Blumsztajn Seweryn

Blumsztajn Seweryn (b. 2 May 1946, Wrocław) – journalist, opposition activist in the Polish People’s Republic.

In 1958, he joined the “Walterowcy” Troop in the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. In the years 1964–1968, he studied at the Faculty of Political Economics, University of Warsaw. He was interned since 19 March until 10 April 1965 for his involvement in the opposition movement, including the distribution of the open letter to the Polish United Workers’ Party written by Jacek Kuroń and Karol Modzelewski. He was suspended from university several times. He was arrested on 8 March 1968 before the rally held at the University of Warsaw. On 19 March he was suspended from university and sentenced to two years in prison in December. He was released in 1969 following a country-wide amnesty.
